Rabbi Ingber discusses the word "crush" and its many uses in the English language. He focuses in on the idea of something begin soul crushing and how to emerge from the experience. He takes inspiration from a survivor of the Parkland school shooting in 2018, who he heard speak about his experiences and recovering from them. Rabbi Ingber then turns to the Torah passage in which laws for the Tabernacle are being handed down--specifically that the olives must be hand crushed for the oil for the menorah. There must be a crushing before their can be a light.
