Scope and Content

For Shabbat HaGadol, Rabbi Ingber discusses the instructions in the Torah that dictate the changing of clothes after scooping up ashes at the alter. He takes this as meaning spiritual life is dirty and messy. It is not meant to be easy. He emphasizes that Passover is about teaching children and bringing harmony to the tensions between generations and the cleanliness and messiness, pointing out that Jewish life can be messy. And that until something is acknowledged as broken, people do not think to fix it.
