Rabbi Ingber begins by sharing that he let his children watch Star Wars for the first time and how it worked itself into culture as a mythology about the story of a hidden child. He then leads into Lurian Kabbalah and the myth of TzimTzum--the mythology of absence and presence. This is tied into the story of Joseph and his jealous brothers throwing him into the pit and taking his coat to their father Jacob, who refuses to be comforted that his son his truly dead. And then there is a discussion of Judah and his strength to admit he messed up and was wrong. Rabbi Ingber then challenges the congregants to go out into the world and fight injustice with love and justice--alluding to Hannukah and bring some light into the world.
