Scope and Content

Israel and Jewish pride. Discussion of Mayor Mandani's refusal to attend the Israel Day parade, opposition to a Jewish homeland. Naso says to lift up heads of children of Gershom (Levites). Stand tall. Ishitzer says that the Levites developed ability to enter into situations of uncertainty and remain upright inside of them. We've been crouching for a long time. Lifting head means 3 things: 1. Not shaking a fist but knowing who you are and don't need world's permission. 2. Refusing to start discussions about Israel/ Judaism with a disclaimer. 3. Lift head to receive blessing.
