The Song of Korach's Children: Parshat Korach 2026 June 19Entry/Object ID
rdi-2026.06.19Scope and Content
Korach has an idealistic vision -- that everyone is holy, everyone is a priest -- not just Moses, Aaron, and his sons. The Ishbitzer rebbe says that Korach's vision is true, but he pushes too hard, too soon. And Korach's motivations for power are not entirely pure. So Korach is swallowed by the earth. But the Torah says that his children survive and sing songs that we still sing today. And the firepans used by Korach's followers are not destroyed, but become part of the tabernacle. The remnants of Korach's beautiful vision survive.Archive Details
