Note
Bill Weaverling, WB0JJL, a retired Collins Radio engineer, designed and manufactured the Amtech 2 meter FM transceiver in Marion, Iowa. The synthesized rig covered 143.00--148.995 in 5 kHz steps. The 25-watt output transmitter used solid-state TR switching and was protected against high SWR. In addition to simplex operation, the 225A had ±600 kHz repeater offsets. The high dynamic range receiver used a double balanced diode 1st mixer, a MOSFET RF amp, and had 8 poles of crystal filtering in its 10.7 MHz IF.
