The CW-55’s type ’42 crystal oscillator and 6L6 buffer drove the pair of T-20s in the final to 70 wattsoutput on CW. Using plug-in coils, the transmitter covered 160–10 meters. This same unit served as the RF deck in several of the company’s more elaborate transmitters. The basic CW-55 was sold without meters or power supply.
