Note
The Lafayette Model HE-35-A is a combination transmitter-receiver designed for operation on the 6-meter band, covering 50.1 to 54 MHz.
Note that this is exactly the same device and the United Scientific DeWald and Allied Lincoln 6 meter transceivers.
Specifications & Features
– Input power: 7 watts
– Features a front-panel crystal socket accepting 3rd overtone crystals above 50.1 Mc (normally supplied with a 50.2 Mc crystal installed).
– Utilizes a variable "Pi" network for matching to various antenna types.
†he receiver is a superheterodyne circuit preceded by an RF stage for improved sensitivity, selectivity, and reduced RF radiation. Includes AVC and a controlled noise limiter circuit. Built-in series-resonant and parallel-resonant TVI traps are designed to suppress television interference on transmit and receive.
Tube Complement (6 total)
– 6U8A or 6EA8: RF amplifier and mixer.
– 6U8A or 6EA8: local oscillator and 1st IF amplifier.
– 6AL5: detector and noise limiter.
– 6CX8: crystal oscillator and RF power output stage.
– 12AX7: AF amplifier and microphone amplifier.
– 6V6GT: modulator and audio output stage.
Power Requirements & Mobile Operation
AC Operation: Runs on standard 110–120 VAC, 60 Hz, using the included 11-pin socket power cord.
DC Operation: Note: The HE-35 can not be run directly from DC. It can be operated in mobile configurations from a 6V DC source via Model HE-18 power unit, or a 12V DC source via Model HE-16 power unit.
