General Notes

Note

The Palomar Engineers P-410X (AC-powered) and P-412X (DC-powered) are all-band preamplifiers designed specifically for use with a transceiver operating in the 1.8 to 54 MHz range. No transceiver modifications are required. Features – Automatic Antenna Switching: The unit features internal automatic antenna switching. When it senses transmitter RF power, it automatically cuts out of the amplifier mode and connects the antenna directly to the transceiver. – Adjustable Delay Recovery: After a transmission stops, there is a short, continuously adjustable delay before the preamplifier cuts back in. This delay can be adjusted from about "a second" to over 3 seconds to accommodate CW, SSB, or fast-paced net and contest operations. – Broad Frequency Coverage: The tuned RF amplifier covers all amateur bands from 160 through 6 meters, as well as foreign broadcasts and other services within its range. – Low Noise Component: It utilizes a low-noise dual-gate FET transistor to ensure a low noise figure. Specifications – Frequency Range: 1.8 to 54 MHz. – Noise Figure: 1.5 to 3.5 db. – Maximum Power Capacity: 350 watts peak (must not be connected to the output of a linear amplifier). Power Requirements: P-410X: 117 VAC 60 Hz. P-412X: +12 VDC
