The TRC Special was a TRC-2 transceiver case with one of VHF Engineering's transceiver kit boards inside. It was available for the 50, 144, 220, and 432 MHz bands. The unit shown has the TRX-144 board, and is a 15-watt 2 meter transceiver. It is complemented by a VHF Engineering Synthesizer II; $259.90 (TRC-Special)/$169.95 (Synthesizer II). A large part of VHF Engineering's product line consisted of circuit board kits.
