World Radio Laboratories debuted the Globe Champion as a 150 watt CW and AM transmitter in 1948. It was followed by 165 watt, 175 watt, and NBFM versions the next year. The early Champions covered 80-10 meters with plug-in coils, and later models added 160 meters as well. The price for the 165 model was $279.00 kit; $299.00 wired. The NBFM Chamion sold for $199.00.
