Some ads referred to these as "student midget kits."
These were available in one, two, and three tube versions, or you could get the one tube version and add to it later, if desired. Only a BCB coil was included with the kits. Oddly (or not), the tubes were not included with the upgrade kits.
A variety of plug-in coils provide coverage from 17 to 1500 meters (approximately 18 MHz to 200 kHz), and "long wave."
One tube version uses

(1) 1.5 volt A battery
(1) 45 volt B battery
For use with headphones. Has a regeneration control as well as main tuning.
Two tube version uses
