Collins introduced the 310B as a precision exciter for homebrew high-power transmitters. It had an internal power supply and covered the 80 through 10 meter bands with 15 watts output. The 70E-8 PTO drove ganged, band-switched buffer stages. Its 2E26 final used plug-in coils.
