Howard Model 435(A) is the basic unit of the Howard "400" series Features include: separate electrical band-spread condenser, ceramic coil forms for oscillator stability, built-in Jensen dynamic speaker, permeability type BFO, iron-core IF coils, copper plated chassis, silver plated shielding, illuminated slide-rule dial, band use indicator, electrical band-spread dial, send-receive-stand-by switch, audio gain control, BFO pitch control. AUdio output about 2.5 watts. Housed in metal table cabinet finished in wrinkle gray and trimmed with satin silver. The pointer at far left of the scale is the band indicator. The half circle on the right is the band spread. Differences in "A" version (1941) unknown.
