The 90651, 90661, and 90662 models are visually identical.
Model 90651 is a less expensive version of the dipper. The calibration is satisfactory for most purposes, but not as good as the 60661. The range is 1.7 to 300 MHz, though optional coils will extent the range down to 220 kHz. Supplied without a carrying case. QST, Mar 1977, p. 155.
Model 90651 has a solid state amplifier for greatly increased sensitivity. It was sold concurrently with the 90651.
Model 90652, released late in 1971, was the solid state version of the 90651.
Review: QST, Sep 1971, p. 139. Through at least QST, Mar 1977, p. 155.
Model 60661 is an industrial version of the dipper with improved calibration for laboratory use, with a range of 1.7 to 300 MHz, and includes a three-wire grounded power cord.
Model 90662 is also an industrial version of the dipper, with calibration matching the 90661, but with a range extended from 225 kHz to 300 MHz. It also includes a three-wire grounded power cord.
All models are complete with a built-in power supply, with connections for battery power for use in the field where AC power is not available. The meter is a standard General Electric 2 inch type. The calibrated dial is a large 270º drum dial with seven direct reading scales, plus an additional universal, or logging, scale. All color-coded scales have the same length and readability.
The metal carrying boxes were later replaced with plastic.
Optional low frequency coils:
46702 – 925 to 2000 kHz
46703 – 500 to 1050 kHz
46704 – 325 to 600 kHz
46705 – 220 to 350 kHz
90651 and 90652 both advertised in QST Oct 1978, p.199.
