General Notes

Note

The HRA-10-1 was designed specifically for the HR-10(B) receiver and Single-Bander series, but could be used as an external calibration source or integrated into a variety of other receivers assuming the proper power requirements were provided, as the unit does not have its own power supply. The calibrator is built on a small chassis with an octal plug on the base designed to plug into a mating socket on the HR-10(B) and Single-Banders. It is a simple crystal-controlled oscillator using a 6BA6 and provides harmonics from 100 kHz to at least 30 MHz. The calibrator can itself be calibrated against WWV by means of a small trimmer cap. Note: The calibrator filament circuit is grounded internally to the calibrator chassis. For this reason, the calibrator chassis must not be grounded to the chassis of the radio with which it is used. Frequency coverage: 100 kHz to at least 30 MHz, in harmonics of 100 kHz Crystal: type: quartz, fundamental frequency: 100 kHz ±0.005% pin spacing: 0.486 inches pin size: 0.050 inches Power requirements: 150 VDC @ 1.7 mA and 6.3 volts @ 300 mA Tube: (1) 6BA6.
