HAMMARLUND HQ-145: The general-coverage HQ-145 tuned .54–30 MHz and had electrical band spread for the ham bands. One of its fivebands was a special 20 meter band-spread range. The HQ-145 was double conversion above 10 MHz and used 12 tubes. It had both a crystal filter and notch filter. The clock was a $10.00 option. HAMMARLUND HQ-145A: Hammarlund updated the HQ-145 with the addition of a product detector, a flip-top cabinet, and a 110/230 volt, 50–60 Hz power supply. They also added a socket to power accessories and a "systems" socket to facilitate operation with the company’s HX-50 transmitter. The HQ-145A tuned from .54 to 30 MHz in four bands and had an additional band-spread range for 20 meters. The HQ-145AX included provisions for 11 crystal-controlled channels.
