These are: MX1: a syncrodyne detector converter (takes the place of an IF strip) AA-1: audio amplifier VO1: oscillator-buffer TX-1: crystal oscillator and amplifier These four modules were also sold separately for $7.95 each, and could be wired together to form the nucleus of a simple 80/40/15 meter CW QRP rig. In addition to these four modules, the PM-1 also included the AC1 (also sold separately for $7.95, which included an amplifier current meter, antenna switch, knob, and connector), a flywheel tuning assembly, a slide rule dial, front panel band changing controls, a VFO-crystal switch, and an aluminum chassis.
