These giant console base-reflex speakers (or "reproducers" as they were called then) were designed specifically for the SX-28, and made for Hallicrafters by Jensen. They were based on the Jensen MT-8. The R-12 contains a 12" Jensen speaker, while the smaller R-8 contains an 8" Jensen and can also be used with the SX-25. The cabinets are wood, finished in gunmetal gray with a red stripe around the speaker opening. Each contains a 5kΩ matching transformer.
