General Notes

Note

The B-1 covers 80 through 10 meters and handles up to 250 watts. The unit uses a pair of bifilar-wound coils to provide a 1:1 or 4:1 match for 75Ω unbalanced to 300Ω balanced, or 75Ω unbalanced to 75Ω balanced—but not both simultaneously. WIRING OPTIONS There are two wiring options for the B-1, depending on which matching ratio is desired. For a 1:1 match the coils are wired in parallel. Refer to photos. Note the connections to lugs C, D, G and H. The B-1 was sold as an accessory for the AT-1 and DX series. The unit is painted with the familiar dark gray color of the classic series test equipment. Band coverage: 80 through 10 meters Impedance matching: 75Ω unbalanced to 300Ω balanced, or 75Ω unbalanced to 75Ω balanced Power capability: 250 watts input to transmitters Photos, general information and specifications from "Heathkit: A Guide to the Amateur Radio Products," by Chuck Penson, WA7ZZE.
