The HT-46 transmitter ran 180 watts SSB and 140 watts CW input with a 6HF5 final on 80–10 meters. It used a 9 MHz quartz IF filter and transceived with the SX-146 receiver when hooked together. It had a solid-state 120 VAC power supply.
