Note
The PSA-9 was designed for and released with the HW-9. It replaced the HWA-7-1 which was used with the HW-7 and HW-8.
The PSA-9 is only slightly more powerful than its predecessor. It provides 12.6 volts at 1 amp. Regulation is within 5 percent. Like the HWA-7-1, the PSA-9’s limited current capacity restricts its usefulness as any kind of general purpose power supply.
The front panel contains an on/off slide switch and pilot light, and the rear panel contains only the AC line cord and DC power output wires. There are two fuses inside: a 3/8 amp slow-blow on the AC side, and a 1.5 amp fuse on the DC side. Both are 3AG style fuses.
Output voltage: 12.6 VDC, ±5% @ 1 amp
Maximum output current: 1 amp
Ripple: 50 mV or less
Power requirements: 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 38 watts
