The Palco Bantam 65 was a compact mobile transmitter with 65 watts input on AM, 90 watts CW with a 6146 final. It had a VFO and two crystal positions. An antenna changeover and receiver-silencing relay was built-in. The modulator was on a separate chassis and could be remotely mounted. It employed negative peak clipping. Power supplies for both 6 and 12 VDC as well as 115 VAC were available.
The Bantam 65A, released in 1959 ($179.50) carried forward most features of the Bantam 65. The transmitter and its 35A modulator acquired new chrome-plated panels. The modulator chassis was now enclosed.
