General Notes

Note

From In 2024, Joe Carcia NJ1Q, W1AW station manager, notes that when ARRL built the front half of the HQ building at the 225 Main St office complex (location of present day HQ), W1AW was also renovated. The rear foyer (facing the HQ building) was added at that time. Then in 1989 further renovations and updates were made. See also story: QST, Feb 1977, p. 65. Note that not all the photos correlate well with the copyright dates of the publications in which they appear. For example, the equipment and general setup in the 1964 copyright photo seems much older than the equipment and setup in the 1965 copyright. This suggests that much more than a year had elapsed between the two. Blurb about the dedication of the W1AW. Radio, Nov 1938, p. 62.
