General Notes

Note

This small power supply was designed specifically for the HW-202, but will also power the HW-2036. In size, shape and color it is an exact match for those two-meter radios. The HWA-202-1 provides 13.8 volts nominal, and could be used as a general purpose bench supply, but is only rated at 2.2 amps, and then only for a 40% duty cycle. The 120 VAC side of the supply is protected with a circuit breaker. The output is protected by short circuit sensing electronics, rather than a fuse. References Review. 73 Amateur Radio. Oct 1974, p. 41. Output voltage: 13.8 VDC regulated (adjustable from 10 to 15 VDC) Output current: 2.2 amps, 40% duty cycle @ 13.8 VDC Regulation: better than 1.5% from no load to full load Power requirements: 120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 55 watts maximum Size: 3 high x 7.25 wide x 10 deep; Weight: 5 lbs Solid State: diodes: (4) 1N4001, (4) 3A1 transistor: (1) TA2577A integrated circuit: (1) MFC6030 Photos, general information and specifications from "Heathkit: A Guide to the Amateur Radio Products," by Chuck Penson, WA7ZZE.
