Kit or wired The EICO Model 710 Grid Dip Meter is a tube‑type grid‑dip oscillator. Covering a frequency range from approximately 400 kHz to 250 MHz via eight plug‑in coils, it uses a Colpitts oscillator circuit based on a 6 AF4A tube. With the selected coil loosely coupled to a tuned circuit, the meter in the grid circuit will show a “dip” at resonance, allowing the user to determine the circuit’s resonant frequency, Q, or infer component values. Additional functions include serving as a wavemeter, signal‑generator, and zero‑beat detector via a switchable diode and headphone function. Discontinued late in 1972 or early 1973. Frequency Range: 400 kHz to 250 MHz in 8 overlapping ranges Meter Movement: 500 µA Coils: Pre-wound and calibrated to 0.05% Tuning : planetary drive with 1:7 drive ratio Dial: 340º rotation, illuminated, scales are 3 3/4" long.
