General Notes

Note

CQ, Jul 1966, p. 34. CQ, Sep 1967, p. 120 (RTY-2) 73, Mar 1968, p. 63. (RTY-3) The Aquadyne KTY-1 receiving converter kit utilizes five silicon transistors and four diodes in a circuit that provides the signal for driving the selector magnet of a teleprinter. The audio filter section uses 88 mH toroids and mylar capacitors for separating the mark and space signals. Provision is made for 850, 425, and 175 Hz shifts. The audio filter circuit is preassembled and tuned. Also available in a single-shift version for $99.50. The RTY-2 added a 100 volt 60 mA loop supply, and uses a high voltage output transistor for better selector magnet current waveform. For FSK or AFSK. The RTY-3 is improved but the ad does not say specifically how. There are three versions. In addition to the RTY-3, there is the RTY-3SB for use with SSB transceivers, and the RTY-3K with a built-in AFSJ keyer.
