ARCOS was an acronym for the Amateur Radio Components Service. The East Greenbush, New York company, owned by Fred Merry, W2GN, made UHF amplifiers and transmitting converters. The amplifier itself was an adaptation of a K2RIW strip line design. It used a pair of 4CX250Rs and would run 2 KW PEP input on 432 MHz.
