The Bandit 2000A used a pair of 8163/3-400Z tubes in grounded grid. It covered 80–10 meters and required 160 watts drive for 2000 watts PEP input. The amp’s internal power supply operated from 115 or 230 VAC.
The Hunter Bandit 2000B used four United Electronics 572B tubes and was rated at 2000 watts PEP input on SSB. CW input power was 1000 watts. Hunter cautioned to reduce power considerably if the amp was used for AM or RTTY. The Bandit 2000B was available as a kit or wired & tested.
