Breting receivers were manufactured at the Gilfillan Brothers' Los Angeles plant, taking advantage of their RCA license. The Breting 12 used a dozen tubes, one of which was a second RF stage employed only above 7 MHz. It had both signal strength and percentage-of-modulation meters. A crystal filter in the 432 kHz IF provided selectivity. The Breting 12's audio stages could be used to drive a transmitter's modulator. Frequency coverage was 0.55-30 MHz in five bands; $93.00, 1935. (44)
