This is probably the same unit as shown in QST, May 1957, page 107. In 1955 it was not specifically referred to as model 755. Note differences in the color of the dial.
WRL’s stand-alone VFO was introduced in 1955. It had 50 volts of RF output on 160 and 40 meters. These frequencies were multiplied in the transmitter to provide coverage of 160–10 meters. WRL paid particular attention to temperature compensation. The 755 had an internal power supply.
The 755A VFO was introduced in 1958, and was largely a cosmetic overhaul of the 755. It was calibrated for 160–10 meters with output on the 160 and 40 meter bands. RF output was 50 volts, and it had a self-contained, regulated power supply. Changes from the earlier 755 version were an improved dial drive and a new “Forward Look” cabinet. $49.95 in kit form.
