Waters’ model 3001 Universal Coupler and phone patch not only connected a transmitter and receiver to the phone line, but also had functions for transcribing with a tape recorder or playing taped messages over the air. Its hybrid circuitry allowed VOX operation of the station. Model 3002 is the same as 3001, but includes Waters “Compreamp” speech processor.
Also see the B&W 3001 and 3002 versions of these units. They appear to be identical.
These are the same as the Waters 3001 and 3003. After 1970, B&W took over the Waters brand of products, subsequently resold under the B&W label.
