Single conversion superheterodyne circuit.
The S-52 is an AC-DC version of the outwardly identical S-40A. Both radios were released in 1948, and share the same basic specifications. Features include a headphone jack, BFO, ANL, AVC, pitch, mute, built-in speaker, three position tone control, and sensitivity control, and a zero to 100 bandspread.
In 1950 the S-52 evolved into the S-77--essentially the same radio.
