The Astro 200A added to the features found in CIR's Astro 200. It had up/down tuning buttons on the handheld microphone, an improved noise blanker, high SWR protection, and an illuminated meter. The synthesized 200 watt SSB/CW transceiver tuned the 80-10 meter bands in 100 Hz steps. A noise blanker, VOX, and speech processor were built-in.
