Clegg's FM-DX transceiver ran 35 watts output. Its phased-locked loop synthesizer covered 143.5·~ 148.5 MHz in 5 kHz steps. Operating modes included Simplex, and the standard ±600 kHz repeater offsets. There were three additional positions for non-standard offsets. The receiver in the FM-DX had a MOSFET RF stage with a 4-pole band-pass filter, and a 4-pole crystal filter in its 10.7 MHz IF. Two more 10.7 MHz stages were followed by another 4-pole crystal filter.
