Although plainly labeled 30S-2 on its front panel, this Collins prototype was referred to as the 30S-3 in development documentation. It incorporated automatic tuning from 2–30 MHz and ran a kilowatt using a 3CX1000A7 tube. The proposed 30S-1 successor never reached production.
