The 75S-1 was the original S/Line receiver. The 10-tube, double-conversion set covered the 80-10 meter bands and could be used on any 200 kHz segment between 3.4 and 30 MHz with the appropriate high-frequency beating crystal. Its crystal deck had 14 positions.
A 75S-2 model with an expanded crystal deck and 14 additional 200 kHz tuning ranges was also made. The 75S-1/S-2 could receive SSB, CW, and AM. A 2.1 kHz mechanical filter provided selectivity on sideband, and an optional 500 Hz mechanical filter was available for CW. The 455 kHz IF transformers were used for AM. The CW BFO was crystal-controlled.
