General Notes

Note

73, Nov 1963, p. 31. CQ, Mar 1964, p. 87. Comaire Electronics of Ellsworth, Michigan was owned by Doug DeMaw, W1FB, a technical guru who had a long association with ARRL headquarters. The LM-6N2 series was an antenna matchbox for 6 and 2 meters. It matched an unbalanced transmitter output to both balanced and unbalanced loads. The matchbox had a built-in SWR bridge and meter. The unit contains two independent tunes, so can be used with two transmitters or transceivers, and two antennas. The LM-6N2-B was the same as the LM-6N2, but without the SWR bridge. – 49–56 MHz and 144–149 MHz – 500 watts – Open wire or 300 ohm feedline to the antenna – Convert any unbalanced 50-75 ohm transmitter output to balanced feedline from 200-450 ohms. – A 1:1 standing wave ratio can be maintained between transmitter and line – Eliminates reactance – At least 30 dB of harmonic attenuation through use of high "Q" silver plated tuner coils
