(extra space for WARC bands) QST, Dec 1977, p. 152. The T-4XC transmitter could transceive with any of the Drake 4-Line receivers, going back to the R-4. A front-panel switch selected the transmitter or receiver PTO, or allowed them to be used separately. The PTO had a new, more easily-read dial, and the mic input connector and VOX controls were moved from the side of the transmitter, where they had been located on the T-4XB, to the rear panel. Other changes included the replacement of vacuum tubes with solid-state devices in some circuits. Input power was 200 watts on SSB, CW, and controlled-carrier AM. The T-4XC had provisions for AFSK RTTY operation. The final amplifier was a pair of 6JB6As.
