General Notes

Note

Designed specifically for the SS-9000 transceiver. Factory assembled. In addition to the power supply the unit contains a speaker and two clocks. The clocks are built around two separate, 4-digit vacuum fluorescent displays, and can be wired for 12 or 24 hour operation. Each is set with its own fast-slow buttons. The clocks are unsophisticated, and have no battery backup. When power is restored after being lost, the left-most digit in each display will flash until reset—but only if there is a digit displayed in the left most place. Further, there is no way to set the clocks with any precision, or to ensure that they will stay in sync with each other. Output voltage: 13.8 VDC regulated Maximum output current: 25 amps intermittent (50% duty cycle, 10 minutes on-off)l 15 amps continuous Current limiting: over-current protected, typically set to 28 amps Thermal protection: automatic shutdown with 0ver-temp on heat sink Regulation: better than 4% from no load to full load Ripple: less than 2% at 25 amps Circuit breaker: 20 amps for 120 VAC, 10 amps for 240 VAC Power requirements: 120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 6/3 amps Photos, general information and specifications from "Heathkit: A Guide to the Amateur Radio Products," by Chuck Penson, WA7ZZE.
