The HQ-140-X employed the same crystal filter used in Hammarlund’s premium SP-600 receiver. It had 11 tubes and general-coverage tuning from .54 to 31 MHz. The band-spread dial was calibrated for the 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meter amateur bands;
