Note
The HS-24 was released in 1964 as a companion for the SB-300 and as a replacement for the boxy AK-7 (for use with Heath’s mobile equipment). The HS-24’s rounded corners and sleek appearance were an attempt to match the SB series styling and present a more modern look. (The SB-600 speaker would not appear for another 18 months.) Inside is a 4 x 6 inch 8Ω speaker.
The unit was originally supplied with a length of shielded cable fitted with an RCA plug. Also included was a mounting bracket. The bracket was fastened to the speaker with #10 flat washers and wing nuts. Often as not, the bracket has long since disappeared. The HS-24 and matching bracket are finished with Heath’s standard SB series “front panel green” wrinkle paint.
