This transceiver was introduced as the Swan Astro-102BX. When it became part of Cubic Commu-nications’ product line, it was christened the 102BXA. Its two PTOs could operate in a split-band mode or either could provide simplex control. Two 8-pole IF filterswere used in cascade for selectivity. A 300 Hz CW filterfurther narrowed the passband. A switch selected full- or semi-break-in. The 102BXA covered 160–10 meters. Power output was 100 watts.
