(knob kit) The original Communicator II was released in 1953, and covered the 2-meter band. A year later, in December 1954, a Communicator II for 6 meters appeared, as did 12 VDC power supplies. The set weighed 20 lbs., and AM phone power output from the 2E26 final 8–10 watts. Knobs for the tuning controls were not originally supplied, relying instead on screwdriver adjustments.
