The S-85 had eight tubes and covered 0.535–34 MHz in four bands. Its band-spread dial carried calibration for the 80 through 10 meter amateur bands. Single conversion superheterodyne. Replaces the S-40. Features include: BFO, AVC, ANL, speaker jack, tone (hi/low), phono input, standby, selectivity, and an uncalibrated zero to 100 band spread.
The S-86 is an AC-DC version of the S-85.

IF: 455 kHz
