The SR-42 transceiver's two tuning ranges covered 144-146 and 146-148 MHz. Eleven tuned circuits minimized interference from broadcast and commercial services. The 11 tube set had a crystal-controlled transmitter and provisions to use the Hallicrafters HA-26 VFO.
The SR-46 shared design features with the SR-42. It covered 6 meters, tuning 50–52 and 52–54 MHz. The SR-46 used 10 tubes rather than the SR-42’s 11. The transmitters in both rigs ran 10–12 watts input.
Both transceivers ran 10-12 watts input and had internal 115 VAC supplies.
Companion VFO is the HA-26.
