This is an update of the HQ-105TR.
The HQ-205TR was advertised as a transceiver, but in reality was a general-coverage receiver sharing its cabinet with a 5 watt, crystal-controlled transmitter. The six-channel AM transmitter could be used on either the Citizen's Band or the 10 meter amateur band. The 11-tube receiver tuned 540 kHz–30 MHz.
