The 450-A had 12 tubes and tuned from 0.54-65 MHz in six bands. It featured a direct-reading dial with 47 inches of electrical band spread. The SEND-RECEIVE switch was replaced by a BFO SHIFT switch, and a small circular dial was placed inside the band spread dial providing greater resolution with the band spread.
An R-meter (S-meter) was included, but the crystal filter was a ten-dollar option.
