Note: In 1965 Hunter also made a wattmeter called the 20A.
Hunter Manufacturing, located in Iowa City, Iowa, was owned by Dr. Theodore Hunter, W0NTI. He was instrumental in the development of the PTO and the Navy TCS system while employed at Collins in the 1940s. After the war, he formed his own company to manufacture amateur radio gear as well as medical equipment.
The heart of the Cyclemaster 20A was a PTO. In concept, the rig was similar to the Collins 310 series, bearing a strong physical resemblance. The 20 watt VFO/exciter provided band-switching frequency control from 3.5 to 29.7 MHz and contained transmit-receive and metering circuits for the transmitter's amplifier stages.
