The Hy-Gain 3806 2 meter FM transceiver is an self contained which provides the safety and convenience of VHF communications in one compact unit. It operates from 144–148 MHz and is ideal for mobile or fixed short distance communications.
The transceiver will perform reliably in all weather conditions. It is crystal controlled in both receiver and transmitter. Crystals are supplied for channels .52/.52. The 3806 will operate from AA cells, 12 VDC external power source, or an optional Nicad power pack .
Features
– Double-conversion superheterodyne receiver employing MOSFETs in both the mixer and RF amplifier stages.
– Metering & Indicators: Includes a front-panel red transmit LED indicator along with an analog meter that displays relative signal strength on receive and battery condition on transmit.
– Antenna: Supplied with a telescoping frac14-wave whip antenna, with an optional "rubber duckie" flexible antenna available.
– Jacks & Connectors: Front-facing controls and weather-protected jacks for an earphone, external power, and external antenna.
– Built into a blue ABS plastic housing designed for high impact and shock resistance.
– Features gasketed body halves to prevent moisture ingress, a specially baffled speaker/microphone grille to keep out water, and a isolated, sealed battery compartment.
